Learn to Skate Programs
Our Learn to Skate programs utilize small class sizes and experienced qualified instructors and volunteers to achieve the best results in a fun, non-overwhelming environment.
We limit our class sizes to ensure personal instruction.
Ages 18 months to 2.5 years
- 15 min - Individual instruction
- Familiarizes skater to wearing helmet & skates on “slippery” surface
- Skills include balance & comfort in falling
- Skater advances once balance and little steps are made with support
- Guardians do not come on ice & can watch from ice level
Ages 2.5 to 3.5 years
- 15 min - Individual instruction
- Familiarizes skater to wearing helmet & skates on “slippery” surface
- Skills include balance, comfort in falling, marching
- Child develops stability as the only skate aide used is that of the instructor
- Skater advances once marching without support is maintained
- Guardians do not come on ice & can watch from ice level
Ages 3 years & up
This program is for children who live with special abilities (ie: neurodivergence, cognitive conditions)
- Individual instruction
- Time is based on the individual need(s) of skater and ranges from 15min – 30min
- Familiarizes skater to wearing helmet & skates on “slippery” surface
- Skills learned are balance, comfort falling, increased time on ice, marching independently, following instructions
- The goal of this program is to integrate the child into group beginner classes with the support of their personal coach
- Guardians do not come on ice & can watch from ice level
Ages 4 – 12
- 25 min with 5 skaters to 1 coach
- Use games / activities to develop skating skills like gliding, stopping, turning, jumping
- Skater advances once skills are met for level 2
Ages 5 & up
- 50 min with 8 skaters to 1 coach
- Skills progress with edge work & speed as skill levels for power stopping, turning, jumping and balance increase
Ages 5 & up
- Skater must be working on a level 3 or higher
- 50 min with 8 skaters to 1 coach
- Focus is on stride, edges, balance & speed
- On some occasions this program may be mixed with the hockey program
Ages 10+
- This program develops familiarity & confidence on ice
- 25 min or 50 min with 8 skaters to 1 coach
- Skills include, stopping, gliding, turning & advances with the individual development of participants
- Helmets must be worn & ‘hockey’ face shields are encouraged

Once your registration is received, you will be notified of your class time via email.
Exact times will depend on what program registered for.
It will be between 1:30pm – 4:00pm
There is NO SKATING Thanksgiving Day Weekend Saturday October 11th, 2025
You will receive an email prior to your first class to confirm start time.
